Matthew Eaton
Associate
Matt joined Velocity’s venture group as an intern in 2008 and transitioned into a full time position in 2009. As an Associate, Matt provides analytical and portfolio management support, assists in due diligence for Velocity's new investment opportunities and is developing an active role in Velocity’s origination efforts. Since joining, Matt has assisted in underwriting investments including Alphion, Sportvision, OpenPeak, Satcon, ISTO Technologies, GameLogic, and Mintera.
Prior to joining Velocity, Matt held internship positions at Morgan Stanley, UBS and Deutsche Bank. Matt earned a B.S., summa cum laude, in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Economics from Northeastern University. Matt was the recipient of the Compass Award for academic achievement and leadership as well as the Outstanding Co-op Award for his work throughout his internships, including his tenure with Velocity. Matt was also part of Northeastern’s Business Beanpot Case Competition Team, winning the gold championship at the Stockholm School of Economics International Business Case Competition.
Matt is a devout sports fan, an avid runner, and a retired ACE certified personal trainer turned fitness enthusiast. In his free time, Matt stays active in recreational sports, continues to hone his culinary skills, and is continuously planning for his next international travel expedition.
