JP brings 15 years of experience in technology and venture financing to Velocity Financial Group. Since joining Velocity in July 2007, JP has led investments in leading emerging technology companies including: Authoria (acquired by Bedford Funding), BrainShark, Cadent, GameLogic, ISTO Technologies, Marathon, Mintera, Pactolus, Persystent, and SimpleTuition.

Prior to joining Velocity, JP served as Senior Vice President at GE Commercial Finance, where he was responsible for originations in the Technology Lending Group. Prior to GE, JP was a Principal at Hercules Technology Growth Capital in Boston. Earlier in his career, JP was an Associate at Comdisco Ventures, responsible for originations, underwriting and portfolio management for more than 80 companies. JP began his career in venture leasing at Boston Financial and Equity, where he was elevated to the title of Assistant Vice President. JP earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maine.

JP is married with two children, and his family is his true passion in life. JP is a diehard Boston sports fan and is grateful to be living in “Trophy Town, USA”. JP is an amateur sports memorabilia collector with a growing collection despite nowhere to put it. JP also serves on the advisory committee for the UMass - Boston Venture Development Center.
